Linking Analyses

Connect opportunities to bid analyses for a seamless workflow from discovery to proposal. Track your pursuit pipeline and keep everything organized.

Linking provides:

  • Unified tracking - See analysis status from opportunity view
  • Context preservation - Analysis inherits opportunity metadata
  • Pipeline visibility - Track opportunities through your process
  • Quick navigation - Jump between opportunity and analysis

Note

Linked analyses automatically update opportunity status indicators, helping you track pursuit progress.

Creating Linked Analyses

From an Opportunity

From Bid Analysis

Viewing Linked Items

From an opportunity:

  • See linked analyses in the Activity tab
  • Click any analysis to open it
  • View analysis status and progress

From an analysis:

  • Linked opportunity shown in header
  • Click to jump to opportunity details
  • Opportunity metadata displayed

Unlinking

To remove a link:

  1. Open the linked analysis
  2. Click the link icon next to opportunity name
  3. Select Unlink
  4. Confirm the action

Warning

Unlinking doesn't delete either item—it just removes the connection between them.

Pipeline Tracking

Use linking to track your pursuit pipeline:

Pipeline Stages

AnalyzingAnalysis in progressRequirement extraction

Pipeline View

Access the Pipeline view to see all opportunities by stage:

  1. Go to Opportunities > Pipeline
  2. View Kanban-style board
  3. Drag opportunities between stages
  4. Filter by date, value, or department

Automated Actions

Set up automation based on links:

Status Sync

  • When analysis reaches certain completion, update opportunity stage
  • When opportunity closes, mark analysis accordingly
  • When outcome is recorded, update historical data

Notifications

  • Alert team when analysis is linked
  • Notify stakeholders of stage changes
  • Remind of approaching deadlines

Multiple Analyses

One opportunity can have multiple linked analyses:

  • Different versions - Re-analyze after amendments
  • Team analyses - Multiple team members' perspectives
  • Focused analyses - Technical vs. pricing vs. compliance
  • Historical - Compare to previous attempts

Best Practices

Create the link as soon as you start analyzing. This ensures:

  • Proper tracking from the start
  • Metadata flows to analysis
  • Team visibility into activity

When opportunities change:

  • Check for amendments
  • Update analysis if needed
  • Note changes in analysis

Use for Reporting

Linked data enables reporting on:

  • Win/loss by opportunity type
  • Analysis effort vs. outcomes
  • Pipeline conversion rates

Tip

Export your linked opportunities and analyses for management reporting and pipeline reviews.

Integration with Proposals

When you generate a proposal from a linked analysis:

  1. Proposal inherits opportunity metadata
  2. Submission details pre-populated
  3. Deadline tracking enabled
  4. Full traceability maintained
