The War-Room

The per-bid workspace: compliance checklists, pricing benchmark, team, amendments, and live intelligence

The War-Room

Clicking any bid on the Active Bids page opens its war-room — a single-bid command view that gathers everything needed to get the submission out the door.

The header carries the bid's identity and its one decisive action:

  • Status pillBidding while in progress, Submitted once marked submitted
  • Title, reference number, and department
  • Mark submitted button — shown when all submission gates pass
  • "N blockers" button — shown instead when gates are still open; clicking it opens the force-submit dialog listing what's blocking (see Submission Package & Gates)

KPI strip

Five at-a-glance indicators across the top:

KPIMeaning
Bid readinessReadiness ring (60% mandatory compliance + 40% required deliverables final) with the open-gate count
MandatoryMandatory criteria compliant vs. total, or "none extracted"
RatedRated (point-scored) criteria covered vs. total
PackageRequired documents final vs. required total
CountdownDays to close with the exact closing date and time

Pricing decision panel

Benchmarks your price against similar historical awards — matched by the buying department and category, within 0.5–2× of the tender's estimated value, with sub-$1,000 placeholders and statistical outliers excluded.

When enough comparable awards exist, the panel renders a price scale:

  • The P25–P75 winners' band — where the middle half of winning prices landed
  • Ticks for your cost (if set), the median winner, and the ceiling (the tender's estimated value)
  • A movable "your bid" marker — type any price to see it against the band, with live vs. median and gross margin readouts
  • A model suggestion (the 40th percentile of similar winners, floored at cost + 10% when a cost is set)
  • A provenance line: sample size, look-back window, and data confidence

Warning

The panel refuses to draw a scale when the underlying data is insufficient (fewer than 3 usable comparables, or low-confidence percentiles). It will tell you why instead of showing a misleading band.

Tip

Many tender notices publish no contract value. When that is the missing piece, the panel offers an inline form to enter your own estimate — with a suggested figure drawn from similar past awards or the category's historical value band. Saving it re-runs the benchmark and also feeds win probability and the bid decision.

Left column: criteria and package

Mandatory criteria

The compliance checklist, populated by linking an analyzed RFP to the opportunity. Each row shows the section reference, the requirement text, the assessment justification, and a status pill:

  • Compliant — assessed as fully met
  • At risk — partially met
  • Gap — cannot be met as things stand
  • Not assessed — no capability assessment yet

Rows sort worst-first (gaps at the top) so open problems are always visible. If nothing has been extracted yet, the panel prompts you to link an analyzed RFP.

Submission package

The deliverables checklist for the bid — covered in full in Submission Package & Gates.

Rated criteria

The same checklist treatment for rated (point-scored) requirements, so you can track how much of the scored evaluation your response covers.

Right column: team and amendments

Team

Lists the bid team — members are added from the opportunity page, with their role and responsibilities shown here.

Amendments

When a new amendment is detected on the tender, a warning banner appears with a summary and an Acknowledge button, so nobody prices against a stale document. Below it, the panel lists the addenda, amendments, and clarification documents linked to the bid, newest first.

Live intelligence rail

The right-hand rail carries the analytical view of the bid:

  • Win probability — calculated on demand with a Calculate button. Shows the probability, a confidence level, and the top factors pushing the probability up or down.
  • Recommendation — a Run bid decision button produces a recommendation (Bid, Consider, Conditional bid, or No bid) with a composite score out of 100, a confidence level, and the leading positive and negative factors. See Bid Decision for the methodology.
  • Likely competitors — the top vendors from similar historical awards, with their award counts and main department. The most frequent winner is flagged as the top threat.
  • Submission gates — a live pass/fail list of the gates that control "Mark submitted", with what's still open on each.

Note

Win probability and the recommendation are computed on demand, not automatically — run them once the bid's estimated value and requirements are in place, and re-run after material changes (an amendment, a new capability assessment, a revised value).
