Capability Matching

During analysis, every extracted requirement is assessed against your company profile. The result is a match status and a written justification for each requirement, so you can see at a glance where you are strong and where you have gaps.

Setting Up Your Company Profile

Matching runs against your company profile, so its quality determines the quality of your results. Before analyzing, make sure your profile covers:

• Technical capabilities and services offered
• Certifications and security clearances
• Years of experience and past performance
• Key personnel and expertise

Match Statuses

Each requirement receives exactly one of three statuses:

Only Fully Meets counts toward the compliance score — see Compliance Ring.

Justifications

Every assessment includes a written justification explaining why the status was assigned — which parts of your profile support the match, or what appears to be missing. Open a requirement to read its justification before acting on the status.

How Assessments Are Made

Cothon combines two assessment methods:

• AI assessment — a language model compares each requirement against your full profile and writes the justification.
• Deterministic checks — for verifiable credentials such as certifications, security clearances, and years-of-experience thresholds, Cothon performs direct comparisons against your profile. This tier prevents the AI from crediting you with a certification or clearance your profile does not actually contain.

Reviewing Match Results

1. Start with the mandatory banner. If mandatory requirements are not met, they are pinned to the top of the list and flagged in a warning banner — resolve or accept those first.
2. Filter to Cannot Meet and Partially Meets to review every gap — see Views & Modes.
3. Read the justifications. A "Cannot Meet" often means the relevant capability is simply missing from your profile, not from your company.
4. Record disagreements as notes. Add a note on any requirement where you disagree with the assessment, so your team sees your reasoning — see Analysis History.

Improving Match Accuracy

• Add missing capabilities that caused incorrect "Cannot Meet" results.
• Be specific: name certifications, clearance levels, standards, and years of experience explicitly.
• Keep the profile current: add new certifications and contract experience as you earn them, remove expired ones.
