Organization

An organization is your company's shared workspace in Cothon. Bid analyses, the company profile, bid intelligence, lessons learned, and every other collaborative feature are scoped to your organization — teammates in the same organization see the same data.

Organization management lives in Settings → Organization.

Creating an Organization

There are two ways to get an organization:

• Company setup wizard with a claim code. If Cothon issued your company a claim code, the onboarding wizard bootstraps your organization from it — linking your verified government vendor record and pre-filling a profile inferred from your public award history. See Joining an Organization.
• Create one manually. In Settings → Organization, click Create Organization, give it a name and optional description. You become its owner.

Members and Roles

Organizations have three roles — owner, admin, and member. Admins and the owner invite people by email with a role, manage pending invites, change roles, and remove members; the owner can transfer ownership. See Members and Roles.

Ways People Join

• Email invites — sent by an admin, accepted from the invitee's Settings page.
• Claim-code onboarding — the company wizard creates the organization and makes the first user its owner.
• Domain matching — if your organization has verified a company domain (via a connected Google, Microsoft Teams, or Slack integration) and a user with a matching account opts in, they can be suggested the organization and file a join request for an admin to approve.

Plans, Trials, and Seats

Organizations can carry a plan of their own — commonly a 30-day trial activated by a claim code. While an organization plan is active, it applies to all members and overrides their individual subscriptions.

• Seat limits: trial organizations have a seat cap. Members plus pending invites count against it; when seats are full, new invites are blocked until a seat is freed or more seats are added.
• Expiry: when a trial ends without a contract, the organization drops to the free tier until a plan is activated.

Verified Vendor Link

An organization can be linked to a verified vendor record in public procurement data. The link connects your workspace to your company's actual award history, powering award-history inference, vendor performance views, and contract insights. Claim-code onboarding establishes this link automatically.
