Joining an Organization

There are three ways to end up in an organization: bootstrap one with a claim code, accept an email invite, or request to join through domain matching.

Claim-Code Onboarding

If Cothon issued your company a claim code, the company setup wizard turns it into a ready-made workspace:

1. Start the wizard and enter your claim code — it is validated as soon as you type it.
2. Confirm the government vendor record it points to and choose your workspace name.
3. The wizard bootstraps the organization: you become its owner, the organization is linked to your verified vendor record, and a company profile is inferred from your public award history for you to review and adjust.

Claim codes also typically activate the organization's trial plan (see Organization for how plans and seats work).

Email Invites

An admin invites you by email with a role (admin or member). In Settings → Organization, invitees see My Invitations with the organization name and the invite's expiry date — click Accept to join. Admins can revoke pending invites at any time; details in Members.

Domain Matching and Join Requests

Organizations can verify company domains through connected workspace integrations — a Google Workspace domain, a Microsoft Teams tenant, or a Slack workspace. An admin with the matching integration connected adds the domain in organization settings.

For users, this enables discovery:

• Opt-in first. Automatic organization matching is off by default; you enable it as a consent in your privacy settings.
• Suggestions. With consent on, Cothon compares your connected accounts against verified organization domains and suggests matching organizations you aren't yet a member of.
• Join requests. Requesting to join files a pending request. You can see your pending requests and withdraw one before it is decided.
• Admin approval. Organization admins review join requests and approve or reject them; approval adds you as a member.

After You Join

Your role determines what you can do — see Roles. You share the organization's company profile, bid intelligence, and lessons library with your teammates, and you can leave the organization at any time from Settings.
