Microsoft Teams Integration

Connect Cothon with Microsoft Teams to receive notifications, collaborate on opportunities, and keep your team aligned within your existing workflow.

Setting Up

Note

Microsoft 365 admin approval may be required to add third-party apps.

Notification Types

Opportunity Alerts

Channel Configuration

Setting Up Channels

Map notifications to specific Teams channels:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Teams > Channels
  2. Click Add Channel
  3. Select the Team and channel
  4. Choose notification types for that channel

Tip

Create a dedicated "Cothon Alerts" channel to keep notifications organized.

Adaptive Cards

Teams notifications use rich adaptive cards:

Opportunity Card

Shows:

  • Opportunity title and department
  • Value range and deadline
  • Quick description
  • Action buttons (View, Save, Analyze)

Deadline Card

Shows:

  • Opportunity name
  • Days/hours remaining
  • Current status
  • Team assignments
  • Action buttons (View, Update)

Activity Card

Shows:

  • Activity type and description
  • Who performed the action
  • Related opportunity/analysis
  • Quick response options

Taking Action

From Notifications

Click card buttons to:

  • View - Open in Cothon (new tab)
  • Save - Add to your saved list
  • Analyze - Start bid analysis
  • Assign - Assign to team member
  • Snooze - Remind later

Bot Commands

Message the Cothon bot:

Tabs provide quick access to Cothon features without leaving Teams.

Notification Settings

Frequency Options

  • Real-time - Immediate notifications
  • Digest - Batched summaries (hourly/daily)
  • Business hours - Only during work hours

Filtering

Control which notifications you receive:

  • Minimum opportunity value
  • Specific departments
  • Categories of interest
  • Team activity types

Troubleshooting

No Notifications

  1. Verify the Cothon app is installed in your Team
  2. Check channel configuration in Cothon
  3. Ensure bot has permission to post
  4. Check Teams notification settings

Can't Connect

  1. Verify Microsoft 365 account permissions
  2. Check if third-party apps are allowed
  3. Contact your IT admin for app approval
  4. Try reconnecting the integration

Missing Features

  1. Ensure you have the latest Cothon app version
  2. Check Microsoft 365 license includes required features
  3. Verify admin hasn't restricted app capabilities

Disconnecting

To remove Teams integration:

  1. In Cothon: Settings > Integrations > Teams > Disconnect
  2. In Teams: Remove the Cothon app from your Team
