Staffing Rate Card

For staffing firms, the Rate card shows what the federal government actually pays per person per year for common roles. Use it to check whether your rates sit inside the range buyers pay.

How to see the rate card

What it shows

The card lists the role and seniority combinations with the most data behind them, for example a senior analyst. For each one, it shows:

• The median annual rate per person (the card's subtitle says "day rate", but the figures are per person per year)
• Awards sampled: how many contracts the rate is based on
• Rate range (p25–p75): the middle half of rates paid. A wide range means pricing for that role varies a lot.

How the rates are worked out

Rates come from awarded federal staffing contracts, not from published ceiling rates. Each contract's value is divided by the number of people and the number of years it covers. Contracts where those figures are unclear, or where the result is implausible, are left out.

Limits

• Federal awards only. Provincial staffing awards are not included.
• Many staffing awards cannot be used, because they do not state team size and term clearly.
• The card shows only the best-sampled roles, not every role and level.
