Upgrading Your Plan
Tip
Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated — you only pay the difference for the remainder of your current billing period. No double-charging.
Downgrading Your Plan
Warning
Before downgrading, check your current usage against the lower plan's limits. If you exceed the new plan's limits (team members, storage, integrations), you'll need to reduce usage before the downgrade takes effect.
Usage Monitoring
Usage Dashboard
The usage dashboard shows real-time consumption for the current billing period:
| Metric | Display | Alert Threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Analyses Used | Progress bar with count | 80% of limit |
| Proposals Generated | Progress bar with count | 80% of limit |
| AI Credits Used | Progress bar with credits | 80% of limit |
| Storage Used | Progress bar with GB | 90% of limit |
| Team Seats Used | Count of active members | At limit |
| API Calls | Daily and monthly counts | 90% of limit |
Usage Alerts
Configure alerts when approaching limits:
Overage Handling
When you reach a limit:
- Analyses: Additional analyses are queued but not processed until next period or upgrade
- Proposals: Generation is paused; existing proposals remain accessible
- Storage: New uploads are blocked; existing files remain accessible
- API Calls: Requests return 429 (Rate Limited) until next period
Note
Cothon never automatically charges for overages. When you hit a limit, the feature is paused until your next billing period or you upgrade. No surprise charges.
